La Asunción de María vivida por los Eudistas
La Asunción de María según la espiritualidad Eudista es contemplada como un misterio de amor, unión y glorificación, profundamente vinculado a la misión redentora de Cristo y al papel maternal de María en la Iglesia.
Recordemos que la Asunción es el dogma que afirma que María fue llevada al cielo en cuerpo y alma al final de su vida terrenal. Proclamado oficialmente por el Papa Pio XII en 1950. Pero la devoción a este misterio ya estaba profundamente arraigada en la vida espiritual de los Eudistas desde mucho antes.
La historia de la Asunción de María en la tradición Eudista se entrelaza con la espiritualidad de San Juan Eudes, quien vivió en el siglo XVII y fue un gran promotor del culto a los Corazones de Jesús y María. El no escribió directamente sobre la Asunción como dogma, pero exaltó la gloria de María como modelo de santidad y plenitud en Dios. En sus escritos, María es vista como la criatura más perfecta, completamente unida a Cristo, lo que anticipa su glorificación en cuerpo y alma. La espiritualidad Eudista considera la Asunción como la consumación del camino interior del corazón, que María recorrió en perfecta comunión con Dios.
Los Eudistas, fundados por San Juan Eudes en el siglo XVII, tienen una profunda devoción al Corazón de Jesús y María. Desde esta espiritualidad, él nos afirma: “no podemos separa lo que Dios a unido tan perfectamente”, corporal al compartir la sangre por la Encarnación y su unión mística con Cristo por participar plenamente en la gloria de su Hijo y ser la más perfecta discípula. Ella es la “llena de gracia” (Lc. 1,28), su glorificación corporal es vista como consecuencia natural de su santidad y de la perfección de sus virtudes. Es modelo de vida cristiana: María es presentada como ejemplo de fidelidad, humildad y entrega total a Dios y además, es colaboradora por su maternidad espiritual: Su Asunción es también signo que su misión continua como Madre de la Iglesia.
La Asunción está enraizada en la interpretación de textos bíblicos como Génesis 3,15, Salmo 132, 8 y Apocalipsis 12.
San Juan Eudes promovía una visión de María como “la obra maestra de Dios”, cuya glorificación es parte del plan divino. “su Hijo es todo en ella: El es su ser, su vida, su santidad, su gloria, su poder y su grandeza”.
Los Eudistas celebramos la Asunción como una fiesta de esperanza y victoria sobre la muerte. Se invita a los fieles a vivir en comunión con María, aspirando a la santidad y a la unión con Dios.
San Juan Eudes nos recuerda: “no es verdadero cristiano quien no tiene devoción a la que es madre de Jesucristo y de todos los cristianos”.
La celebración litúrgica de la Asunción en la tradición Eudista se vive como una experiencia profundamente espiritual, centrada en la unión de los Corazones de Jesús y María, como un solo corazón y en la esperanza escatológica que inspira este misterio. Más que una conmemoración histórica, la liturgia Eudista de la Asunción busca formar el corazón del creyente a imagen del Corazón de María, y abrirlo a la esperanza de la vida eterna y que nos lleva a su hijo Jesucristo. Es una fiesta que une la contemplación, la acción pastoral y la formación espiritual.
La misa Solemne la celebramos el 15 de agosto, con especial énfasis en la glorificación de María como modelo de santidad y plenitud en Dios. La homilía suele destacar su papel como primera redimida y su unión con Cristo.
Aunque se usa el rito romano, los Eudistas suelen incorporar un prefacio que resalta la Asunción como culminación de la vida de María, en comunión con el misterio pascual de Cristo.
Las lecturas bíblicas que se proclaman son textos como Apocalipsis 11,19; 12, 1-6, que presentan a María como la mujer gloriosa, y Lucas 1, 39-56, con el Magnificat, que expresa su humildad y exaltación.
Se incluyen plegarias que invitan a la transformación interior del corazón, en sintonía con el Corazón de María, inspiradas en san Juan Eudes,
Se entonan cantos marianos: himnos como el Ave María, el Magnificat y el Salve Regina, que reflejan la alegría de la Iglesia por la glorificación de la Madre de Dios.
Renovamos la consagración al Corazón de María, como expresión de entrega y comunión espiritual y en algunas comunidades se realiza una procesión con una imagen de María, representando su tránsito al cielo, acompañada por cantos y signos de esperanza.
En la acción pastoral se organizan espacios de formación para meditar sobre el significado teológico de la Asunción y su impacto en la vida espiritual a través de charlas y retiros.
Además, en las misiones y obras de misericordia, Inspirados por la esperanza que transmite la Asunción, los Eudistas realizan visitas a enfermos, acompañamiento espiritual y actividades solidarias.
En resumen, la Asunción en la tradición Eudista no es solo un evento teológico, sino una experiencia viva de comunión con María, que inspira a los fieles a vivir con el corazón elevado hacia Dios.
